Castle Hukvaldy lies on an extended hill 150 m above the community. It is 320 m long and has a circumference of 800 m. It has 8 cylindrical bastions and 3 angular turreted gates, over 200 firing slits, 4 courtyards and 3 observation lines. The origin of the castle dates back to the period between 1257 and 1285. A game preserve, which boasts of centuries-old beech trees and herds of fallow deer and mouflon, is one of the biggest embellishments in this beautiful region in the foothills of the Beskydy Mountains.
